While Sept. 17 will be a busy day, so will be Oct. 1.

Among the activities for the upcoming date will include:

– Fall Festival at Grand Vue Park from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. The park’s largest event of the year will be taking place! There will be vendors, food, live music, inflatables, activities for youngsters, giant gourd toss, ice cream, zipline and aerial park tours,

It will be a free event open to the public.

The 12th annual “Hands On Ag Day” took place this past Thursday and Friday, with Marshall County fifth grade students from all public and private schools participating at the Marshall County Fairgrounds.

The National Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the Northern Panhandle Conservation District (NPCD) hosted the event, along with several other agencies, including the West Virginia Department Agriculture, West Virginia Conservation Agency, the WVU Extension Service, Marshall County Fair, Marshall County Farm Bureau, Marshall County Commission, Future Farmers of America, and the Marshall County Schools.

“The days were really unique because the students gained first-hand knowledge about different aspects of agriculture,” said Katie Fitzsimmons, NRCS District Conservationist.
